Roads and Bridges, Papua New Guinea

In Papua New Guinea, Global Pacific has been providing the role of team leader, procurement management, contract management and site supervision services since early 2013 to the Infrastructure Development Authority - High Impact Project Office relating to the Highlands Highway, Gulf Highway and Autonomous Region of Bougainville coastal road projects; Total value of works USD $1.0 billion. Global Pacific's services include the establishment and team
leadership of the Project Management Office / Project Management Team, preparation of tender documentation to the International FIDIC ( Silver Book ) EPC Turnkey / Projects contract requirements, public tender, technical and financial evaluation, negotiation, award and post contract management and site supervision.

The Highlands Highway is Papua New Guinea's "economic lifeline" that runs from the port of Lae in the Morobe province to the Highlands region (750km) which is home to major resource projects such as the multi-billion dollar PNG LNG gas project and other major mineral resource development together with agricultural industries such as coffee and tea plantations and other goods for export.

The Gulf Highway will connect the Petroleum Resource Area Economic Corridor including the PNG LNG project to ensure they become part of the economic corridor and open up the economy of Gulf province. The road connectivity with Port Moresby (350km) and other province will pave the way for furthering the economic growth by linking various villages, economic corridors, and air and sea ports.

The Government of Papua New Guinea is also embarking on a program of works to reconstruct and upgrade the main roads in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville to improve road access and the economic and social well-being of the people. One of these locations is the coastal road from Siara - Arawa Aropa Airport Buin (260km).

Global Pacific was engaged by Vocus Communication to undertake a Technical Due Diligence of the FX Network in New Zealand for the purpose of a potential share purchase of the company. FX Network have built, purchased and leased over 4,000km of buried fibre optic cable since 2003. This network is operated and maintained by FK Network to provide for a range of commercial managed network services and Internet Service Providers, to the populated locations in the North and South Island of New Zealand.

Global Pacific provided for a Technical Due Diligence Report that Vocus Communication rely on for the purpose of the potential share purchase.

Global Pacific had previously provided such services to Nextgen Networks Holding company Leighton Holding in the reason sale of Nextgen Networks shares in a select market competitive environment.

Mong Cai, Vietnam | Global Pacific | Project Development and Management

Global Pacific provided project development and project management services for a proposed five star hotel in Mong Cai, Vietnam (value US$150m). The hotel is planned to offer over 470 rooms to guests, complete with a high end casino, restaurant and shopping district.

Global Pacific was selected for this exciting new development based on our experience in large commercial building projects and capability for providing a total project delivery solution.

Southern Cross Cable Network | Global Pacific | International Project Management

Commercial and Technical Certification, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and West Cost, USA

The Southern Cross Cable Network is the world's largest submarine fibre optic cable project at 26,000km and the first to directly link Australia and the US. It was also the first submarine fibre optic cable financed outside the US.

Cable & Wireless Global Operations had a tripartite agreement with Southern Cross Cable Ltd and the financiers of the project ABN Amro. Global Pacific reported to all three parties as the Independent Certifier for technical and payment certification.

Global Pacific undertook Independent Landing Facilities Certification technical and payment certification of the building and infrastructure, terrestrial fibre optic cable links and backhaul services at each landing location.

The landings were located in Sydney (2 sites), Auckland (2 sites), Fiji (1 site), Hawaii (2 sites) and California (2 sites). Each Landing Party Agreement was different, and involved five different international contractors.
